Volunteer with the HOMELESS LEADERSHIP ALLIANCE OF PINELLAS
The Homeless Leadership Alliance of Pinellas needs your help to end homelessness in Pinellas County! Community Service Hours are available.

Volunteers must be ages 12+. Volunteers ages 12 - 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Volunteer Opportunities Include:
Do you speak another language? If so, we need your help translating important documents, like resource guides, surveys, and forms for clients. Key languages include - but are not limited to - Spanish, Haitian Creole, Vietnamese, and Russian.
A Level II Background Screening may be required for translations involving sensitive client information.
Written translations can be completed at home, on your schedule. If you are available for on-call or scheduled verbal translations, please let us know!
Volunteer schedules are flexible, so please don't hesitate to sign-up!
Do you have an eye for detail? Help with document creation, website maintenance, data entry, research, and more!
Many administrative tasks can be completed from home. Other work can be completed at the HLA's office in St. Petersburg on the 1st Tuesdays and 3rd Thursdays of the month. A Level II Background Screening may be required for some administrative tasks.
Help create content for and share vital resources on social media!
Content Creation: Help find articles and resources, create graphics, and write informative captions for the HLA's social media accounts.
Resource Sharing: Follow the HLA on social media and share important resources, updates, and advocacy opportunities. Receive 1 Community Service Hour for every 5 shares!

This volunteer opportunity can be completed at home and does not have set hours, though there may be deadlines for content creation.
Help ensure that meetings run smoothly by volunteering to take notes, set up and break down meeting space, and/or assist with technology during important planning meetings for both the HLA and the entire Pinellas Continuum of Care (CoC).
Meeting times and locations vary, occurring on weekdays beginning between 9am and 5:30pm. In some cases, meetings may be attended virtually.
Deliver important documents and resources to neighbors and community partners! If you have reliable transportation and are comfortable driving and interacting with others, we need your help to deliver supplies to clients and partners throughout Pinellas County. Items include (but are not limited to):
➡ Food and other resources
➡ Homeless Resource Guides
➡ Rental applications
➡ And more!

Do you have a talent or skill that you would like to share? If so, the HLA will help you find a place (like a shelter or food pantry) to donate your time and talents! Skills include but are not limited to:
➡ Gardening
➡ Hair Styling
➡ Handyman Services
➡ Tutoring
➡ And more!

Host a donation drive to help your neighbors in need! The HLA will offer guidance, arrange for a service provider to receive your donations, provide flyers, and market your drive on social media.
Donation drives can be for almost anything that our community's most vulnerable residents need, such as:

➡ First Aid Supplies
➡ Nonperishable Food
➡ Tents
➡ And More
Community service hours are available for anyone organizing and promoting a donation drive or collecting and transporting donations.
Help your community secure millions of dollars in funding for vital resources during the Point in Time Count and Survey (PIT)!
PIT takes place annually, with the next event occurring on Thursday, January 26, 2023. Volunteers are needed on January 26th and in the months and weeks before.
Help your neighbors in need stay safe and warm during Pinellas County’s coldest nights.
The Cold Night Shelters operate between November and March, opening when the “feels like” temperature drops to 40-degrees or colder. Volunteers are needed to help register and serve guests, setup and breakdown shelter space, and more.
